"No" to plastic: washouts in paradise beaches....

Plastic is one of the worst contaminants of our planet. For some reason, we get massive amounts of different types of plastic in the beaches all over the world. As I was walking yesterday in Ocean Beach (San Francisco, CA) it's inevitable to see layers of small particles of plastic on the beach. It's one layer after another from bottle caps to plastic containers & etc. And of course there's dead wildlife.

Why? Maybe they eat the plastic while hunting for a tiny crab or as I saw another time, there was a beautiful bird in a wildlife preserve, who's beak was caught up in a nylon fishing line, and died from starvation, because he was not able open his beak to eat for maybe days or weeks. How would you feel if you were that bird?

Plastic has to be considered a deadly friend
and we are still consuming large amounts of it in our daily lives. So, every time you buy a plastic bottle & food contained in plastic packages or products that make our life "more comfortable" think twice..or trice and look for alternative ways to avoid plastic usage. Every time you reject a plastic bag in the supermarket or a shopping center, you'll feel some kind of lightness of the being and you will be happy to express your rejection towards this evil product from our century.

Goodbye Year of the Pig... Don't eat me! & Welcome to the Year of the Rat 2008.

As 2007 passed by, the Year of the Pig too (in the Chinese Horoscope). I want to share an image from last year that inspired me to ask people to love pigs and to avoid their mass murders. We are usually happy to enjoy their delicious tender and tangy meat, but they are disregarded by our culture as animals, now they are just a plate of food on our tables. For what's left of this year, please: avoid eating pig & animal meat in your future lives, it brings the earth, humans and the ecosystem an innumerable list of negative results. Love,long live the pigs & the 2008 Rats!
